FRESH FOOD MARKET

HELD ON THE FOURTH SATURDAY OF EACH MONTH
At 8am. on Saturday 26 July, Historic Berrima takes a step back to its 1830's origins as a thriving, bustling marketplace with the introduction of the Berrima Court House Fresh Food Market.
The market will be held on the Crown Reserve encompassing the majestic Berrima Court House, every fourth Saturday and will become a regular feature of this historic village. Spokesperson and Berrima Courthouse Market coordinator Paige Coulson, said she was "greatly encouraged by the enthusiastic response from many notable quality fresh produce stall holders who are committed to provide only the freshest produce for market goers".
Colin Gelling, of the Berrima Court House, said "the fresh food market on the grounds of the Berrima Court House was a genteel historical reminder of what Berrima was in the 1830s. History points out that Major Mitchell saw Berrima as an opportunity to develop a busy commercial centre on what was to become the great South Road".
